The Spiti Valley is a cold desert mountain valley located high in the Himalaya mountains in the north-eastern part of the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. The name “Spiti” means “The Middle Land”, i.e. the land between Tibet and India. Spiti valley is a research and cultural centre for Buddhists. Highlights include Key Monastery and Tabo Monastery, one of the oldest monasteries in the world and a favorite of the Dalai Lama. It was the location of the scenery and cinematography in the Indian films PaapHighway, and Milarepa.

Day 01: Shimla - Sangla (225 km)

Arrive in Shimla and head towards Sangla. Reach Narkanda first and have lunch there, Reach Sangla in the evening. Overnight Stay in Sangla.

 

Day 02: Sangla – Chitkul – Kalpa

After Breakfast, we will head towards Chitkul the last village of India towards China. The beauty and landscape of Chitkul are just mesmerizing. We will stay in Sangla and visit the famous Kamru Naag Fort in Sangla will is especially known for the tower-like fort at its highest point, which was made by Lord Badrinath Ji thousands of years ago.

      Inside the fort, there are about 36 crores (360,000,000) gods and goddesses. There is also a shrine to Kamakhya Devi inside the fort campus, which was brought their many years ago from Assam. It is about 2 km from the tourist town of Sangla, on the foot of Kinner-Kailash (House of Lord Shiva). After that head towards Kalpa. Overnight stay in Kalpa.

  

Day 03: Kalpa – Nako

Have a nice breakfast with a view of the mountains and head to Nako Before that visit the famous Suicide Point of Kalpa. You shall meet the confluence of the Sutlej river and Spiti river at Khab. Nako is the most beautiful village with a small Lake. We recommend a walk to Lakeside from your Homestay. Dinner and overnight stay in Nako.

 

Day 04: Nako – Dhanker – Tabo – Pin Valley – Kaza

After breakfast in Homestay, we will proceed towards Spiti Valley, the headquarter of the Spiti Valley is Kaza. On the way to Kaza visit Tabo Monastery, The monastery is protected by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) as a national historic treasure of India and after that visit the Dhanker Gompa, The complex is built on a 1000-foot (300-meter) high spur overlooking the confluence of the Spiti and Pin Rivers - one of the world's most spectacular settings for a Gompa. Dhang or dang means cliff, and kar or khar means fort. Hence Dhangkar means fort on a cliff.  After that visit the Pin Valley National Park, you can go by road till Mud village and there a famous Kungri Monastery which is worth watching. Reach Kaza in the evening. Overnight stay in Kaza.

 

Day 05: Kaza – Komic – Hikkim – Langza – Kaza

Take the morning easy and today we head to Langza- the main area for Fossils, Hikkim- the highest post office in the world and Komic- one of the highest villages in the world at 4587 meters. A visit to the Tangyud monastery in Komic is also worthwhile. You can see some snow-laden peaks during this drive. To make this memorable, you can also hike from Langza to Komic- 3-4 hours. Visit the postmaster of the highest post office in the world at Hikkim and mail some postcards from here. Overnight stay in Kaza.

 

Day 06: Kaza - Key Gompa – Kibber – Chicham Bridge – Kunzum La – Chandertaal Lake

After breakfast in homestay head towards Kibber before that visit the oldest monastery in the region The iconic Key Gompa/Monastery and Spend some time in Himalayan Village Kibber which was once world highest motorable village in the World after that move towards Chandertaal Lake and see Chicham Bridge which is said to be Asia’s Highest Altitude Bridge. We will stop in Losar for lunch and after that, we will cross Kunzum Pass which is 4590 meters high from the sea level cross the Kuzum pass and you will see the amazing and crazy views of Himalayas. Reach Chanderataal Lakes in the Evening. Overnight stay in Camps near Chandertaal Lake.

 

Day 07: Chandertaal Lake – Rohtang Pass - Manali

After breakfast, we will head towards the Moon Lake which is a 30min Hike from the Camps, the lake is situated at the height of 4300meters from the sea level spend some time on the lakeside you feel positive vibes and the view of the Himalayas is just mesmerizing after that we will move towards Manali via Rohtang pass and get ready to see the Dangerous roads of Himalaya which is also known as Trans Himalayan Circuit. Lunch at Famous Chacha Chachi ka Dhaba in Batal. Reach Manali in the evening. Overnight stay in Manali.
